About Sarah

Originally from the New York metropolitan area, Sarah has lived in Southern California since 1993. She has been making images of one kind or another since she was old enough to put pencil to paper.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, concentrating on painting and printmaking, she began working as a graphic designer/production artist for a family owned printing company in Northern New Jersey. This was in the stone age (before personal computers were available) and she learned the “old school” ways of printing and typesetting. But in 1987 she was given a Macintosh Classic computer and her love affair with digital graphics began.

After moving to Southern California, Sarah worked for an award-winning pharmaceutical ad agency in Irvine, where she quickly earned the position of studio manager.

In addition to her regular jobs at the print shop and ad agency, she has maintained an outside client base doing various graphic design projects and in late 2004 she left the ad agency and began working exclusively for her own clients.

While the world is rife with graphic designers, Sarah brings these unique skills to the table: She is a smart and gifted communicator and listener, she has the intuitive ability to quickly envision what it is her clients are trying to express and the necessary talent and skill to bring that vision into manifestation. While she has an abundance of her own creative ideas to contribute, she never forgets that the client is co-creator in each project and helps them to realize “their” creative vision in the most eloquent way possible... on time and within budget. Dedicated and hard working, and pleasant to work with, she also has great sense of humor and the patience of a saint. Most of Sarah’s “clients” have become repeat customers and life-long friends.

Photography: Artist's Statement

“I consider myself a 'hunter of beauty'. I have long held the belief, that beauty exists because it is noticed and appreciated. And so, with camera in hand, I aim and shoot with a trigger finger that Jesse James would be proud of, capturing with split second timing that one exquisite moment that would otherwise have been overlooked. My photographs are the physical manifestation of the awe that I feel in response to my environment. With each photo, I want to say to the viewer ‘LOOK! LOOK! Look through the eyes of your heart at the paradise we live in. Witness this moment.. this light.. this seemingly insignificant detail.. and you will see eternity staring back at you.’"

What others have said:

“Your photos, as I’ve maintained from the very first one [that you showed me] stand out as works of art far above most others. There are many other very beautiful images, but yours are the ones that regularly reach beyond mere description, documentation or decoration. Wonderful how you marry design with concept. So few can.”

I’ve been an Art Director for 20 years for Fortune 100 companies and everything in between, and I’ve looked at a lot of photography over the years—the good, the bad and the downright ugly! When I first saw Sarah’s photos I was moved at a soul level like I’ve never been by photography. Words such as “inspired” or “gifted” seem utterly ordinary when I try to describe Sarah’s talent.
